About

Dr. Kristin Newbegin (she/her) is a vocal artist, educator and movement specialist. When she’s not teaching creative humans to use their voice to change the world, Kristin delights in the nuts and bolts of creative entrepreneurship, vocal pedagogy for the 21st century, natural movement practices, and usually can be found singing on stages and cruising on a bicycle. Sometimes both happen simultaneously!

At its core, Kristin Newbegin Music helps people discover who they are meant to be, so they can share those talents with the world and have fun while doing it. Her students have placed in numerous local, regional, and national competitions and appeared on stages around the globe. They can be found being rock stars singing at National Association of Teachers of Singing, The Kennedy Center American College Theater, Disney Parks, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, and many other stages. Additionally students are active performers working as full time creatives releasing albums, tours, courses, and other creative projects.

A frequent speaker and workshop leader, Kristin has led seminars for places like NATS (Regional, and Chapter levels) and Missouri Choral Directors Association. She also maintains a career as a performing artist and has performed with companies such as Kansas City Lyric Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera for the Young, New Ear Contemporary Ensemble, KC Vitas, and The Meadowlark Project.

Kristin has previously served as voice faculty at Missouri Western State University, Central Methodist University, Benedictine College, and North Central Missouri College. She has a B.M.E. from University of Minnesota, a M.M. in opera performance and D.M.A. in voice from University of Kansas. Based in the Kansas City metro area, Kristin and her husband are raising their Weimaraner puppy Cosmo to howl in harmony with each and every student. Kristin Newbegin Music can’t wait to support you, your dreams, and bring creative magic to the world together.
